The Usui System of Natural Healing: Reiki is a natural healing art which anyone can learn for personal support, and for use with any living thing. Although Reiki is a means of working with energy that we cannot see, it is not a religion and requires no particular belief system. A Reiki treatment is safe, non-intrusive and non-manipulative. The Reiki energy reminds the body of its innate balance, catalyzes and accelerates the body's natural ability to heal itself, and supports both medical and emotional therapies. |
A Reiki Level I training is a hands-on experience and usually happens in four consecutive three-hour sessions. The training follows the form of
a full treatment: head, chest and back, and auxiliary positions. In the first section of the training, the history of Reiki is discussed and the basic hand positions
for self-healing are given and practiced. In the second session, the hand positions for the treatment of the head are demonstrated, with an explanation
of what the position serves biologically (organs, glands, systems), and its interconnections with the body/mind processes.
Students then practice the hand positions with each other. In the same format, the third session covers the chest positions, and the fourth covers
the back positions, each session allows time for practice. By the end of the training, each student will have given and received a full treatment.
At the Reiki I level you learn everything you need to know about Reiki for the purposes of
giving a treatment to yourself and others. The Reiki I training is an opportunity to reawaken and reconnect with your own natural healing abilities
through the empowerment of the Reiki initiation/attunement process and hands-on practice using the energy. At the completion of the class,
you will receive a Guide to Your Practice of Reiki Energy Healing and a certificate confirming your attendance in the training that can be used for
continuing education credits depending upon state regulations.
